General Job Description

The Processing Team is essential to providing operational support to Equity Smart’s loan officers. This team works to ensure that Equity Smart provides quality service and a great customer experience to the borrower, loan officer, and all third parties involved in the loan process so Equity Smart continues to be their broker of choice. 

The Junior Loan Processor provides support to borrowers and the mortgage operations team which includes communication and coordination with the borrower and assisting in ordering and collecting third party documentation necessary for the mortgage loan process. Importantly, the Loan Processor works in a team environment and will work alongside other processors to ensure that each file is processed timely and with attention to quality service, teamwork, and efficiency. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization well by providing exceptional customer service and effective communication, both in writing and orally, to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Review the mortgage application received and verify the information provided

  • Verify the accuracy of disclosures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Provide disclosures and re-disclosures in a timely manner ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Monitor initial and re-disclosure status and reporting importing into the file through the LOS system

  • Perform third party vendor requests, including but not limited to, requesting IRS transcripts, credit supplements, written verifications of employment, flood certifications, title work requests, VOEs, VOIs, and ordering property appraisals

  • Set up loan files with initial documents organized in our LOS before giving the file to a Sr. Loan Processor for further evaluation

  • Communicate status updates to internal and external parties as needed 

  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly internally specified requirements surrounding ordering, retrieval, document review, and system updates are made timely and accurately

  • Meet deadlines and quality standards

  • Develop effective professional partnerships with all colleagues

  • Work closely with loan processors to ensure successful transactions and resolve issues as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • (Preferred) 1-2 years in mortgage industry

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues

  • Ability to multi-task and monitor daily workflow

  • Excellent follow up, organization, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Good verbal and written skills
